School holidays are such a magical time for children. The days are full of possibilities, excursions to exciting places, fun activities, and adventures waiting around every corner. But if you’re a parent, you know there’s often a little tug of worry mixed in with all the excitement. Will they be safe? Will they enjoy it?

We’ve been there. That mix of excitement and nervousness is completely normal. And the truth is, you’re not alone, lots of families feel the same. In fact, Australian family surveys consistently show that over 70% of parents feel some level of anxiety during school holidays when their child is attending activities or programs.

What helps is knowing there are people looking out for your children while they explore and play. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes to make sure each day is safe and smooth at TeamKids, from planning activities carefully to checking the little details that keep things running without a hitch.

For families, that little bit of peace of mind is priceless. It means you can go about your day knowing your child is happy, safe, and having fun.

Which brings us to this blog, and what we do to make the school holidays, not only epic but safe to:

  1. Qualified and caring staff
Our Educators aren’t just trained, they genuinely care. They’re experienced in keeping children engaged, happy, and most importantly safe. All our staff have qualifications, participate in termly personal development trainings and have valid working with children’s checks.
  2. Risk Assessment for all our excursion venues.
All venues undergo a thorough risk assessment from our Planning Team, this makes sure that all the venues we venture to are up to standard, have a secure area, safe bus parking and established processes in place for our groups to have a FUN time.
  3. Always Contactable
Whether it’s a quick update about the day, changes to an activity, or something unexpected, our team is ready to answer your calls or messages, so you’re always informed.
  4. Child-to-staff ratios that give peace of mind
We make sure we keep our numbers in check. Having the right ratio of staff to children means every child is supported, supervised, and looked after closely throughout the day.
  5. Daily safety checks and clear procedures
From arriving to heading home, every activity has clear procedures in place. Staff perform regular safety checks and head counts, ensuring equipment is safe and routines are followed, so children can focus on fun.

At the end of the day, the best memories happen when children are free to explore and when families can breathe a little easier knowing they’re in good hands.
