A Milestone in Our Commitment to Inclusion

At TeamKids, enriching children’s lives means more than delivering quality programs – it means creating environments that reflect and respect the diverse cultures of all Australians. TeamKids is proud to announce the launch of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) – a significant step in our journey towards reconciliation.

As one of the only large Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) providers in Australia with an endorsed RAP, we’re honoured to be leading the way in fostering culturally safe and inclusive spaces for all children and families.

RAP Launch and Smoking Ceremony

We marked the launch of our RAP on Thursday, 29th May 2025, with a Smoking Ceremony – a cultural tradition symbolising cleansing, connection to Country, and new beginnings. The event brought together TeamKids staff, school leaders, and community members in a shared moment of reflection and celebration.

Why a RAP Matters

A RAP provides a clear framework to help organisations take meaningful steps toward reconciliation. For TeamKids, this means embedding cultural learning and respect into all areas of our work – from educator training and programming to partnerships and procurement.

“This RAP is a living testament to what TeamKids stands for,” says Sam Hoath, Founding Director. “By working collaboratively, respecting diverse perspectives, and honouring the wisdom of Australia’s First Nations people, we’re helping to build a more inclusive and equitable tomorrow.”

Turning Commitment Into Action

Endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, our Innovate RAP sets out practical actions to grow cultural awareness, build relationships with First Nations communities, and ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families feel welcomed, supported, and celebrated.

Working Together With Schools

With over 220 school partnerships and 2,500+ Educators, we recognise our role in shaping a future where every child grows up connected to the world’s oldest living cultures. Our RAP Working Group – including two Aboriginal-identifying staff – drives this work with care, purpose, and collaboration.

Join Us on the Journey

Reconciliation is a shared responsibility. TeamKids is proud to be taking purposeful action, and we look forward to continuing this journey alongside our partner schools.
