This term, the great outdoors became our favourite space to learn, play, and connect – all thanks to the 100 Hours Outdoors Challenge!

Launched at the start of Term 2, the challenge encouraged TeamKids children and Educators to spend 100 hours or more outside after school across the term. Whether it was sports, games, gardening, or nature walks, every hour outdoors supported active, healthy habits and helped us work toward a shared goal.

Tracking Progress, One Dot at a Time

All TeamKids services were given a poster with 100 dots – one dot representing every hour outside. With each new hour, a dot was coloured in, turning progress into something the children could see and celebrate together. It was a fun and simple way to build momentum and stay motivated.

Outdoor Moments That Made the Term

From big events like Outdoor Classroom Day (8th May) and World Environment Day (5th June) to everyday play after school, the outdoors became central to the way we learned and had fun this term. For even more inspiration, we celebrated World Bee Day (20th May), International Picnic Day (18th June), and World Insect Day (23rd June) to help us add to our outdoor time – and our dots.

Celebrating Along the Way

While the focus was firmly on fresh air and movement, we still found time for magical and meaningful moments indoors and out – from the creative chaos of Harry Potter Day (2nd May) to thoughtful craft for Mother’s Day (11th May), and powerful reflection during Reconciliation Week (27th May to 3rd June).

Stay in the Loop!

It’s been a big, bright term full of moments to remember – and we’re so glad we could share them with your school community.
